AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team announced the addition of two more to the 2021-22 incoming class Thursday.

Joining the other talented newcomers will be Anna Marie Mayes and Mary-Grace Segars, head coach Greg Williams announced.

ANNA MARIE MAYES
Hometown: Memphis, Tenn.
High School: St. George's Independent School
Event: Jumping Seat

HIGHLIGHTS: Qualified and competed at the Maclay Finals in 2018 and 2019 … Qualified and competed at Medal Finals in 2017 and 2018 … Competed and ribboned at the 2017 Pennsylvania National Horse Show and Devon in the Junior Hunters.

WILLIAMS ON MAYES: "Anna Marie has competed in some of the largest events hosted for junior athletes. What is really appealing to us though, is that she has been a working student. That means that she just hasn't ridden under a trainer but has had to perform all the same duties as a professional so her experience will be vast."

MARY-GRACE SEGARS
Hometown: Canton, Ga.
High School: Creekview
Event: Jumping Seat

HIGHLIGHTS: Finished 10th at 2020 Gladstone Cup Final … JD Pounds Medal final champion … GHJA Equitation Final Reserve Champion … Finished 10th at the NAL Children's Jumper Finals.

WILLIAMS ON SEGARS: "Mary-Grace has similar experience as Anna Marie, although taken from a different path. Mary-Grace comes from a family that is in the horse business so she had to grow up through the ranks of riding with professionals daily on all types of horses."
