AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn swimming and diving team will close out the dual meet season Saturday with a home meet against Florida. For the seniors, it will be their last time competing in the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.
"We look forward to having a home-pool advantage and welcoming Florida," Auburn head coach Gary Taylor said. "It's a great opportunity for our seniors to go out and to celebrate them on Friday and Saturday – Friday night as a team and then Saturday in the dual meet. It's always the key meet to finish our season, and this year will be no different."
This year's senior class includes (in alphabetical order): Logan Andrews, Carly Cummings, Christian Ginieczki, Jewels Harris (pictured above), Thomas Heinzel, Jane Johnson and Spencer Rowe.
The Tigers are coming off a split against Florida State on Wednesday in which the women were victorious, earning their second dual meet win of the new year. Cummings was one of three double-event winners and also swam on the winning 200 medley relay team.
Auburn will face another stiff challenge Saturday going up against a Florida program that has both its men's and women's teams ranked in the top 10. The two sides squared off earlier this season in the Auburn Fall Invitational where the Gators came out on top.
The meet Saturday is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT with the 200 medley relay. Teams will compete both in the pool and on the boards with the divers.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and physical distancing measures involving the student-athletes, there will be no spectators allowed inside the aquatics center for the meet. However, the entire dual meet will be streamed live on SEC Network+. Live results will be available through auburntigers.com.
