We've already introduced you to Auburn freshmen Anna Foster and Elina Sinz. It's time to wrap up our 2020-21 newcomer series with Ashley-Sinclair Curtis, a local product from Enterprise, Alabama, who made her debut at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational last October.

What made you choose Auburn for golf?

Curtis: It is such a family. Auburn has top-notch facilities and really good tradition.

You grew up an Auburn fan. What's your first memory of coming to campus?

Curtis: I was here when we ran the 'Kick Six' back, and I ran on the field after. So I remember that. That was pretty special. Once I was old enough to sit still for a long period of time, my parents always tried to bring me to at least one game a year.

Who or what inspired you to play golf growing up?

Curtis: My dad. He played golf in junior college, and he'd always took me out to the course since I was old enough to stand up. I started playing it because he played it.

When did you start playing golf?

Curtis: I didn't start competitively playing golf until the seventh grade.

You won an SJGT tournament before you got to Auburn. What was that feeling like?

Curtis: It was nice. To God be the glory, I wouldn't be able to do it without him. It was a lot of fun. I played with a lot of my friends that tournament. We honestly just had a great time, and I think that probably helped me do better. I was relaxed and had a good time.

Do you have any pre-match rituals?

Curtis: I always putt first when I warm up, and I always pray on the first tee.

What is your favorite club?

Curtis: Putter for sure. It is my strength. I hit the ball all over the map then I roll it in.

If you could play one course in the world, what course would it be and why?

Curtis: Augusta National, no question. If Heaven had a golf course, I think that would be it.

If you could pick a golfer to have lunch with, who would it be and why?

Curtis: Jordan Spieth. He's my favorite. I've always liked him.

If you could choose three teammates to be stranded on an island with, who would it be and why?

Curtis: Brooke (Sansom) because she's my big sis. Julie (McCarthy) because she is the sweetest person ever. Probably Megan (Schofill) because I feel like she would have a plan and figure out how to get us off the island.

Where was your favorite place to go growing up?

Curtis: The mountains.

If you could choose one meal to eat, what would it be?

Curtis: A 6 oz. sirloin with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes.

What was the feeling like competing in your first match with Auburn this past fall?

Curtis: It was amazing. It was such a great opportunity. I'm so blessed. I learned more than anything else that week. It's a big learning curve. I'm excited to take what I learned from that and use it going forward.

How have you adjusted to this team and playing with so many talented golfers?

Curtis: It's been a unique experience. I am blessed and honored to be here. My teammates give me something to look up to every single day. We are blessed at Auburn with the best combination of players anywhere. I would rather be compared to the best than the worst, so it's pretty nice to know what's possible. It's right there hitting balls next to me. I just have to keep pushing and keep grinding.

If you could give one message to the Auburn family, what would it be?

Curtis: I love you guys. I can't wait to continue to represent you. I hope I don't let you down. War Eagle!
