AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 8 Auburn men's golf team is set to resume its season Feb. 12-14 at the Gator Invitational. The event is scheduled to take place at Mark Bostick Golf Course, a par-70, 6,701-yard course located in Gainesville, Fla.
"It's a very unique golf course," head coach Nick Clinard said. "It's tight and kind of quirky. It's got some small greens and a lot of movement. There are some key shots out there that you've got to execute pretty well to score. Our guys have not seen it, but I think they are up for it. The last time we played there, we won. We're looking to getting there and getting started this week."
The Tigers won the team title the last time they took part in the Gator Invitational back in 2012. Auburn finished 16 strokes ahead of runner-up Arkansas in the tournament.
The Tigers are coming off a fall slate that featured three all-SEC tournaments. Auburn closed out the schedule with a team title at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate. The Tigers were one of three teams to end the annual three-round event at 19-under, and defeated Georgia and Vanderbilt in a playoff to earn the trophy.
Auburn will field a lineup of J.M. Butler, Graysen Huff, Andrew Kozan, Wells Padgett, Jovan Rebula and Alex Vogelsong.
The Tigers are one of nine ranked teams in the 24-team field, which includes No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Georgia, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 11 Florida, No. 16 Alabama, No. 18 South Carolina and No. 23 LSU.
Auburn is paired with Liberty and South Carolina for the opening round and is set to tee off at 11:20 a.m. CT off the No. 10 tee box. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
