Despite winning the doubles point, Auburn came up short in a 5-2 decision to Miami in a neutral-site men's tennis non-conference match Saturday morning at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center in Tallahassee, Fla.

Auburn won the doubles point for the sixth time this season. Tad Maclean and Finn Murgett upset Miami's No. 22-ranked tandem of Franco Aubone and Benjamin Hannestad on court one by a 6-2 score. Jan Galka and Tyler Stice won on court three over Bojan Jankulovski and Patrick Sebastian by the same 6-2 margin.

The Tigers took their first set in three of six singles matches, but only Tyler Stice on court two could capitalize, defeating Benjamin Hannestad in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.

"We have a very young team, but we keep learning and growing through the nerves and new experiences," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said.

The Tigers are now 3-4; Miami is 1-1. This weekend is Auburn's last tune-up before SEC play begins Friday afternoon at No. 21 South Carolina.
