CHICAGO – Auburn basketball signee Jabari Smith has been named a 2021 McDonald's All-American, the organization announced Tuesday.

Smith is one of 24 high school seniors to earn the distinction this year, despite the annual game not being played due to the pandemic.

The consensus top-5 player is the fourth Auburn signee in program history to be named a McDonald's All-American, joining Sharife Cooper (2020), Korvotney Barber (2005) and Frank Ford (1983).

With the signing of Smith and Cooper, the Tigers have signed McDonald's All-Americans in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.

The Tyrone, Ga. native was also named a finalist for the Jersey Mike's Naismith High School Trophy for Boys Player of the Year earlier this month.

Smith has led Sandy Creek to a 24-4 record, including 14-0 record in the region, behind 23.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists 2.8 blocks and 1.7 steals per game during his final season as a prep.
