Auburn looks to continue momentum vs. LSU

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn (5-4-2) continues its spring schedule by hosting LSU (3-7-2) Friday at 6:30 p.m. CT at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
 
The contest will be aired on SEC Network+ and can be heard on WEGL 91.1.
 
STARTING XI
 
Auburn started its spring season with a 5-0 win against Kennesaw State last Friday.
 
The team's five goals were the most in a contest since a 7-0 win against Alabama State on Sept. 16, 2018.
 
The Tigers have now scored 10 goals in the last three contests dating back to the SEC Tournament. The team scored six goals in the first eight contests of the fall.
 
Freshman midfielder Anna Haddock tied a program record with four assists in the contest. She is the first Auburn player since Tammy Waine in 1999 to accomplish the feat.
 
Haddock, who has registered eight points in the last two games, was named the SEC Freshman of the Week and to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week for her performance.
 
Four Auburn freshmen in Olivia Candelino, Marissa Arias, Maddie Simpson and Hannah Waesch scored the first goals of their Auburn careers last Friday.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska turned in her third shutout of the season against Kennesaw State. It marked Auburn's fourth total shutouts.
 
Prohaska continues to lead the SEC with a .814 save percentage. She ranks third in goals against average (1.08) and is fifth in saves (48).
 
The Tigers are 19-8-3 all-time against LSU, including 10-1-1 against the Tigers at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
 
The team has earned a result in 10 straight matches against LSU (8-2-0).
 
SCOUTING LSU

LSU started it's season with a 1-0 win over Southern Mississippi in Baton Rouge last Friday.

Forward Molly Thompson scored LSU's one goal in the first half, and Tinaya Alexander assisted on the play. Alexander leads the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Goalkeepers Mollee Swift and Bella Zanotelli kept the Golden Eagles off the scoreboard, marking the team's second shutout of the season.

Capacity at the Auburn Soccer Complex will be reduced to an Auburn team pass list, visiting team pass list and a limited number of Auburn students. The general public will not be admitted.
 
Students will be required to present a valid student ID and green screen for entry. All fans – Auburn and visiting team pass list as well as students – will be restricted to their respective areas throughout the contest.
 
Face coverings will be required for all spectators and gameday workers. Fans will be asked to sit and remain in the designated orange chair backs and practice one-way traffic flow designated by stadium signage.
 
Tailgating outside of the complex will be prohibited. Additionally, congregating along the fence inside the complex will not be allowed.
 
The portable AU Team Shop will be on-site offering officially licensed Auburn apparel. In addition, a limited selection of bottled drinks and prepackaged food will be available for purchase at the concession stand. All transactions must be cashless.
