AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's tennis team continues non-conference play Sunday when the Tigers hit the road to take on Clemson at 11 a.m. CT.

Auburn (3-1) will play its second straight opponent from the ACC after a tough fight came up just short last Sunday at No. 6 Georgia Tech.

"As disappointing as the result was (at Georgia Tech), that's not what our program's about," Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley said. "Our program's about developing, about getting better. Georgia Tech pushed us hard enough for both of those things to happen. We're going to see the bright side of things, but we're never satisfied, never complacent. They shouldn't be walking away glad that it was close; they should be walking away with a fire in their belly knowing that it was ours to win."

Taylor Russo has led the Tigers in singles through the first four dual matches, posting a 4-0 record. Ranked 99th nationally, Russo has gone 3-0 at the No. 5 spot and won her only match at the No. 4 position. Freshman Adeline Flach and senior Georgie Axon have recorded 3-1 marks in singles as well.

In doubles, Axon and Flach have teamed up for a 3-1 record at the No. 2 position, while Russo and Selin Ovunc – ranked 11th nationally – are 3-1 at the top spot with their only setback to the nation's No. 5 team from Georgia Tech.

Clemson is 2-1 on the year after home wins over Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston and a loss to South Carolina. The Tigers went 12-7 overall and 1-5 in ACC play last year. Auburn and Clemson will be meeting for the first time since the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

"Another tough road match," Lilley said. "Clemson has a new coach this year, the former associate head coach at Georgia Tech. We expect that team to fight really hard. We know we're going to be in for it on the road. We like road matches in the sense that it prepares us really well for our SEC slate, so we expect a battle on Sunday for sure."
