Gymnastics Rankings: Week 5

AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team moved up to No. 19 this week per RoadtoNationals.com. The weekly rankings are based on the average score over the season.
 
The Tigers improved their average to 195.731 following a big score vs. No. 2 LSU last Friday in Auburn Arena. Auburn finished with a 197.075, marking the first time since the 2019 season that they've broken 197 in a meet.
 
"It surprised us a little bit for this young group to turn it around this quickly, but we knew they had it in them," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We still left a lot out there Friday night so we're looking forward to what's next."
 
The nation's top squads start with Florida still in the No. 1 spot and LSU holding on to No. 2. Utah remains at No. 3 and Oklahoma jumped Arkansas for fourth with the Razorbacks at No. 5.
 
The rest of the Southeastern Conference continues to be ranked in the Top 30. Alabama remains at No. 6 and Georgia stands at No. 13. Kentucky is ranked 15th this week, while Missouri is at No. 28.  
 
Junior Derrian Gobourne moved up in a handful of rankings following an outstanding performance vs. LSU. The Sarasota, Fla., product is 16th on floor with a 9.888 average after earning a career-high 9.975 last week. She's tied for 18th on vault at 9.869 and tied for 25th on bars at 9.862.
 
A pair of sophomores in Cassie Stevens and Aria Brusch are among the Top 25 this week. Stevens is 15th in the all-around with a 39.325 average. The Phoenix native earned a career-high 39.425 in the category vs. LSU.
