Auburn leads field, three in top 10 after first day of Tiger Invitational

OPELIKA, Ala. – The No. 16 Auburn men's golf team leads the 15-team field after the opening 36 holes of the Tiger Invitational Monday. The Tigers are at 20-under (278-274--556) through the first two rounds at the par-72 Grand National Lake Course.

Auburn leads by three strokes ahead of Alabama (559), followed by No. 13 Georgia (562), No. 20 Tennessee (566) and No. 14 Vanderbilt (566).

The Tigers have three inside the top 10 individually, led by Alex Vogelsong, who is in a tie for fourth at 7-under (68-69--137). The sophomore rattled off 12 birdies and 19 pars in his two tours of the course.

Graysen Huff is just one shot back in a tie for sixth at 6-under (71-67--138). After an up-and-down first round, the senior turned in a spotless card in his second round that featured five birdies and 13 pars.

C.J. Easley is tied for ninth at 5-under (70-69--139). The sophomore did a majority of his damage on the back nine, securing six of his nine birdies on the day across holes No. 10-18.

Just inside the top 25 is J.M. Butler, who is tied for 23rd at 2-under (73-69--142). The freshman mirrored his teammate Easley's performance with six of his nine birdies coming on the back nine.

Austin Coggin (74-70--144) and Wells Padgett (75-69--144) are part of a five-way tie for 35th overall at even par, while Andrew Kozan is tied for 44th at 2-over (73-73--146).

Rounding out the lineup, Jake Milanowski is 85th at 11-over (79-76--155) and Hal Dove us 89th at 26-over (90-80--170).

The Tigers are paired with Alabama and Georgia for the final round Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. CT off the No. 1-4 holes. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
