AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's golf team wrapped up the fall season with a victory at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic. This weekend, the Tigers will return to Athens, Georgia, to play in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic.

The course is the same. Auburn will play at the UGA Golf Course (Par 72; 6,302 yards). The field will once again be made up of teams from the SEC, but one difference will be the addition of No. 9 USC, No. 24 Louisville and Charleston. In total, 11 of the 17 teams are ranked in the Top 25 per Golfstat.

"It's a very strong field," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "Our SEC is so competitive and then we add a few more teams in there. In the last tournament, we got to see Duke and Wake Forest and Baylor. It was just so good for our players to see somebody outside of our conference, but our conference, it will prepare us for the postseason."

Sophomore Megan Schofill, who earned co-medalist honors at the fall tournament, will not be making the trip due to a personal obligation. However, the trio of Mychael O'Berry, Brooke Sansom and Anna Foster played in the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic.

O'Berry, who finished tied for fourth at 1-under in the fall event, will take the top spot in Auburn's lineup for the second straight tournament.

Next up will be the two newcomers to the Liz Murphey, seniors Kaleigh Telfer and Elena Hualde Zúñiga. This will be Hualde Zuniga's 2020-21 season debut as the fifth-year senior rejoined the team in January after opting out of the fall semester.

Sansom and Foster will round out the lineup at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.

This will be Auburn's third tournament of the spring season. The Tigers have finished fifth in each of the last two, but they are hoping to be in the mix to win this weekend.

"I think our team is on the verge," Luellen said. "We've had decent showings and top-five finishes in good fields, but we really have faltered a little bit not being in the mix to win the tournament. That's always our goal – on the last day to have a chance to win."

The first round begins off Friday. Auburn, set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. CT, will be paired with Charleston and Ole Miss. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com
