Tigers complete second round at Liz Murphey

ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Elena Hualde Zúñiga shot the low round of the day for Auburn on Saturday with a 76 (+4). At 4-over, she is currently the team's top individual through the first two rounds at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic and tied for 18th overall. 

The Tigers dropped to 10th place as a team after shooting 22-over par in Saturday's second round. They are 29-over for the tournament, just nine strokes out of fifth heading into the final day. 

Freshman Anna Foster and senior Kaleigh Telfer are both in the top 40 individually. Foster followed her 72 (E) from Friday with a 77 (+5) in the second round while Telfer carded a 78 (+6) and is now 7-over for the weekend. Foster, who is in a tie for 27th individually, leads the team with 26 pars -- tied for fourth most among all players. 

Junior Brooke Sansom made a team-high three birdies in the second round and finished with a 79 (+7) for the second straight day. She is tied for 63rd overall. 

South Carolina shot 1-under on Saturday to take the overall lead at 4-over par (580).

Auburn will close out the tournament Sunday, teeing off at 7:30 a.m. CT. The Tigers will be paired with Louisville and Texas A&M. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com
