She became a head coach on the college level at the age of 23. When Karen Hoppa took over the program at her alma mater, UCF, she was the youngest soccer coach in the country. Oh, by the way, this was on an interim basis. That was over 300 wins ago.
Hoppa came to Auburn, 22 years ago. On March 13 against Georgia, she notched her 250th win as Tigers head coach. In her tenure on the Plains, Hoppa has an SEC Regular Season Championship, an SEC Tournament Championship, six SEC West Titles and an Elite Eight appearance. Auburn has played in the NCAA Tournament, 16 times under Hoppa's direction.
