Gobourne earns All-America recognition

AUBURN, Ala. – Junior Derrian Gobourne of the No. 15 Auburn gymnastics added another accolade to her growing list in 2021 as she was named a Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) All-American, the organization announced.
 
This is her second-straight yearly recognition from the WCGA and the third-consecutive year with an All-America honor.
 
The 2021 SEC Co-Specialist of the Year picked up first team accolades for her performances on floor this season. The Sarasota, Fla., product finished with an NQS of 9.956 in the event to finish in a tie for fourth nationally.
 
Gobourne led the team on floor, scoring a 9.9 or better seven times over nine meets competed. Highlighting her year was a pair of 9.975s against LSU (2/5) and Arkansas (3/5) that set a career high.
 
She scored a 9.95 on the road at Florida (2/26) and added three 9.925s over the course of the year. Gobourne, an All-SEC performer on floor, also finished with four event titles on the season.
 
The Tigers return to action next weekend, traveling to Tuscaloosa for the 2021 NCAA Regional Championships. Auburn will compete in the night session, April 2, as the fourth seed and looks to advance to the Sweet 16, April 3.
