Auburn soccer huddles after a win vs. Georgia

AUBURN, Ala. – Coming off back-to-back shutout wins, Auburn (7-5-3) heads across the state to take on archrival Alabama (7-6-2) in Tuscaloosa Saturday at 2 p.m. CT.
 
The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
 
STARTING XI
 
Auburn has allowed just one goal through five matches this spring and leads the SEC in goals against average (0.80), a mark that would rank third in program history if the season ended today.
 
The team has turned in back-to-back shutouts for the second time this spring and is riding a streak of approximately 203 scoreless minutes.
 
Freshmen goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week, becoming the first SEC player to earn back-to-back recognitions since 2017.
 
Prohaska continues to lead the SEC in save percentage (.842) and now also leads the league in solo shutouts with six.
 
Senior defender and captain Sarah Houchin scored the penalty kick in the 107th minute at Louisville and was named Top Drawer Team of the Week honorable mention.
 
The goal was the fifth of Houchin's career, including her first game-winner.
 
Auburn has started six or more freshman in each of the first four contests of the spring.
 
Seventeen of the team's 22 points through five matches this spring have come from true or redshirt freshmen.
 
Head coach Karen Hoppa won her 250th game at Auburn vs. Georgia on Mar. 13.
 
Hoppa is one of 20 active NCAA women's soccer Division I head coaches with 300 or more career wins, including 250 or more wins at the helm of his or her current program.
 
Auburn is 18-9-2 in the rivalry series, including 8-5-1 in games played in Tuscaloosa.
 
SCOUTING ALABAMA

Alabama enters the weekend with a 7-6-2 overall record and is 5-1-0 this spring, outscoring its opponents 9-3 in six contests.

The Crimson Tide are led in scoring by Felicia Knox, who has registered 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists.

McKinley Crone has played ever minute in goal this season and ranks second in the SEC with 66 saves. She has turned in five shutouts, four of which have come in the spring.
