Auburn sweeps SEC February Riders of the Month honors

AUBURN, Ala. – Four members of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team were awarded Southeastern Conference Rider of the Month honors for their performances in February.
 
Seniors Taylor St. Jacques and Deanna Green were recognized in Fences and Horsemanship, respectively, while junior McKayla Langmeier earned the award for Flat and sophomore Boo Kammerer was awarded for Reining.
 
The quartet put together big rides in February for the Tigers, helping the squad continue its undefeated streak as Auburn (5-0, 5-0 SEC) bested a pair of Southeastern Conference opponents.
 
Green kicked of February with a big win on the road at then-No. 5 Texas A&M (Feb. 13). She bested her opponent by six points, 78-72, and was awarded MOP honors in the event. Her MOP pushed her to 13 Horsemanship awards in her career, placing her first in program history in the category.
 
She capped the month with another 78 against an SEC opponent. Her 78-70 win over No. 3 Georgia (Feb. 27) marked her second-highest margin of victory of the season. With her help, the Horsemanship corps put together an 8-2-0 mark vs. the pair of SEC foes.
 
St. Jacques went 2-0-0 in February to improve to 5-0-0 overall in Fences for the Tigers. She opened things up with a five-point win over her TAMU opponent, earning MOP honors for the second time this season.
 
The Glen Allen, Va., product closed out the month with an 84-82 victory vs. Georgia. Behind her performances, Auburn finished with a 4-1 mark in Fences at TAMU and put together a 4-0-1 record against UGA.
 
Langmeier, an East Granby, Conn., native, finished undefeated in Flat for the Tigers in February and earned two MOP honors. She kicked off with an 81.5-76.5 victory on the road and followed with an eight-point win against her Georgia opponent, scoring 89 points.
 
The 89 points was Langmeier's second highest total of the season. With her two MOP honors, she upper her season total to three over five meets competed.
 
Kammerer was awarded Reining Rider of the Month honors after finishing 2-0-0 in the event for the squad. With her two wins, she improved to 4-0-1 overall on the year.
 
The Mount Sterling, Ky., product put together a 74-73 victory on the road at TAMU, helping the Tigers go 4-1 overall in the event vs. the Aggies. The 74 was a career-best score for the sophomore. She finished the month with a 72.5-72 edge against Georgia.
