No. 1 Auburn hosts Sweet Briar, Lynchburg in Jumping Seat Tri-Meet

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 1 Auburn equestrian team will host a tri-meet Saturday, featuring only Jumping Seat action at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. The Tigers will welcome Sweet Briar College and Lynchburg to the Plains, March 6.
 
The day starts out with a neutral site contest between Sweet Briar and Lynchburg at 9 a.m. CT. Auburn kicks off competition at 12 p.m. CT vs. Sweet Briar and will close out the busy day at 3 p.m. CT against Lynchburg.
 
"We are looking forward to Saturday and having these two teams come to Auburn," head coach Greg Williams said. "This is a great opportunity to get some of our other riders out in the competition and we're excited for a beautiful day on the Plains."
 
SPECTATOR INFORMATION
Capacity at the Auburn University Equestrian Center will be reduced to an Auburn and visiting team pass list, a limited number of Auburn students and a limited number of general public seats. Admission is free.
 
Fans are asked to review the guidelines regarding gameday at the Auburn University Equestrian Center. Face coverings will be required for all spectators and gameday workers. Fans will be asked to stay in specifically marked locations and practice on-way traffic flow designated by signage. Fans are also asked to socially distance themselves from other members of the public in all locations.
 
Auburn Athletics remains focused on providing a healthy and safe environment for all patrons. Information related to attendance and health and safety protocols will be handled on a game-by-game basis and updates will be provided when available.

AUBURN LINEUP
Saturday's meets will not count towards the team's overall record but will count towards individual records for All-America consideration.
 
The Tigers will be led by a quartet of Tigers who will compete in both events in both meets. Leading the charge will be All-Americans Emma Kurtz and Ava Stearns. Kurtz, a junior from Hudson, Ohio, is 4-1-0 in Fences action with a 2-3-0 mark in Flat. Stearns, a sophomore from Chilmark, Mass., is 3-1-0 in Fences with a 1-2-1 record in Flat for the Tigers.
 
Joining the pair in both events all Saturday will be junior Meghan Knapic and freshman Ellie Ferrigno. Knapic, who excels on Fences, will be given an opportunity to also compete on Flat for the squad. Knapic is 4-1-0 in Fences on the year with three starts in Flat. Ferrigno has one start on Flat this season and will be looking to start in Fences for the first time in her career.
 
Also competing against Sweet Briar will be seniors Ericka Koscinski and Helen Ulrich. Koscinski will ride in Fences vs. the Vixens with Ulrich going on Flat.
 
Koscinski is slated to compete in Flat against Lynchburg, while junior Jessica West is down to ride in Fences in the final meet of the day.
