AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn begins a four-game week with a matchup against UAB at Regions Field Tuesday. First pitch in Birmingham is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT.
 
The game, which marks the Tigers first true road contest since May 2019, can be heard on the Auburn Sports Network and will be broadcast on Blazer Vision.

 QUICK HITTERS 
Auburn enters the fourth week of the season ranked second in the NCAA in runs (115) and fourth in hits (137). The Tigers are also top 10 in batting average (.338) and slugging percentage (.553).
 
In 29 games since the start of last season, the team has recorded the most hits (347) and has scored the second most runs (273) in Division I.
 
The Tigers have hit 17 home runs through 11 games and are one of three teams to have seven players with multiple home runs this season - joined by LSU and Old Dominion.
 
Freshman Joseph Gonzalez is set to make his first collegiate start Tuesday, becoming the Tigers fourth pitcher to make his first career start this season.
 
Freshman Cam Hill leads the Tigers with a .474 average. Hill has multiple hits in three of his four starts and three or more RBI in four of his six games played this season.
 
Including a season at Jefferson State Community College, head coach Butch Thompson recorded his 200th career win Saturday against Boston College.
 
Auburn holds a 50-11 advantage in the in-state series against UAB that dates back to 1979.
 
The Tigers have won 18 of the 25 matchups in Birmingham, including 17 of the last 20.
 SCOUTING THE BLAZERS 
UAB enters the week with a 6-4 overall record and is coming off a series against Kennesaw State in which it lost two of three games but won the finale.
 
Thomas Johnston leads the Blazers and ranks fourth in Conference USA with a .409 batting average, while Jess Davis leads the team in hits (14), runs (12) and stolen bases (eight).
 
Senior southpaw Austin Bohannon will make his second start of the season Tuesday night. Bohannon has struck out seven while allowing just two hits in 5.2 innings.
