AUBURN, Ala.—The Auburn track and field program will host its second home meet of the 2021 outdoor season when it hosts the War Eagle Invitational at Hutsell-Rosen Track, Friday and Saturday.
Action starts Friday at 2 p.m. CT with field events with running events slated to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday field events will begin at 11 a.m., while action on the track set to start at 12 p.m. This weekend's meet will be closed to the public.
Auburn enters the weekend ranked No. 10 nationally on the women's side and the men No. 12 according to the latest rankings released by the USTFCCCA.
"This weekend we will have some good power five and mid-major teams competing, so it will be a good weekend for us to get some stuff done at a high level," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "Our goal this weekend is to move some athletes to another level and secure some more national level marks as well as continue to progress overall as a team."
Auburn will be one of 12 programs competing in the two-day meet. Other participating teams will include Alabama State (M/W), Cincinnati (M/W), Memphis (M/W), Mississippi State (M/W), Missouri (M/W), MTSU (M/W), Samford (M/W), Southern Miss (M/W), Syracuse (M/W), Troy (M/W), UAB (W).
The meet will be the final home competition for 19 seniors that will be recognized Saturday as part of senior day festivities. The senior group includes Faith Bett, Cassandra Carlile, Kylee Carter, Imani Jones, Natosha Jordan, Mercy Kiprop, Caroline Lawrence, Myra Mack, Tori McKinley, Patrice Moody, Frances Patrick and Abbey Zane from the women's team, and Sherwayne Allen, Eric Brown, Craig Clark, Nils Fischer, Silas Kipngetich, Tommy McDonough and Jack Rogers from the men's program.
