No. 1 Tigers earn NCEA academic honors

AUBURN, Ala. – Twenty Tigers on the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team were recognized by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association for their efforts in the classroom, the NCEA announced Friday.
 
Seniors Terri-June Granger, Taylor Searles and Taylor St. Jacques along with juniors Meghan Knapic and Emma Kurtz and sophomores Maddie Spak and Olivia Tordoff were placed on the American Wood Fibers All-Academic First Team. Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the school's meets. They also must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
 
The honor is the third for Granger and Searles and the second for St. Jacques, Knapic and Kurtz. The first team recognition is the first for Spak and Tordoff.
 
Sophomores Boo Kammerer and Ava Stearns earned spots on the second team, which is given to those who earn a 3.25 GPA. Senior Deanna Green was placed on the honorable mention squad for earning a 3.0 or better.
 
Lily Beatty, Ellie Becker, Granger, Peyton Hall, Rachel Hoopman, Haylee Jerkins, Kammerer, Lindsey Klein, Knapic, Ericka Koscinski, Kurtz, Paige Matthies, Mary McDaniel, Searles, Spak, St. Jacques, Stearns, Tordoff and Helen Ulrich represented Auburn on the APHA Academic Honor Roll. The top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment earn a spot on the list.
