AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn sophomores Carolyn Ansari and Selin Ovunc earned selections to the All-SEC Second Team for women's tennis, the league office announced Thursday.

Ansari, a sophomore from Greensboro, N.C., has put together a 14-10 overall record for the season but has been a force for Auburn in dual-match play, going 12-3 in the spring. She has also racked up a 7-2 mark in SEC matches, playing primarily at the No. 3 position. Ansari has earned three victories over nationally-ranked opponents in SEC play, downing No. 93 Emma Shelton (South Carolina), No. 45 Carly Briggs (Tennessee) and No. 12 Meg Kowalski (Georgia). She also earned wins in five of her last six completed matches to close out the regular season, earning SEC Newcomer of the Week honors after the Tigers' matches at Tennessee and Georgia.

Ovunc, a native of Ankara, Turkey, is 13-10 overall in singles with an 8-9 mark in dual matches, playing every match at the No. 1 position. She's earned a pair of wins over ranked foes, defeating No. 50 Taylor Bridges (LSU) and No. 35 Indianna Spink (Arkansas), the SEC Freshman of the Year. Playing alongside grad student Taylor Russo in doubles prior to Russo's injury, the duo was 7-4 on the year and has been ranked as high as 10th nationally with two top-30 wins early in the spring season.

Ovunc and Ansari have teamed up in doubles the last eight matches, earning three wins in SEC play, including the doubles point clincher at Georgia. Ovunc is ranked 56th nationally in singles and Ansari is 73rd heading into NCAA selections next week.

Ansari and Ovunc are the 15th and 16th players to earn All-SEC honors for Auburn women's tennis and the first since 2018.

The Tigers, at 13-8 overall and ranked 19th nationally, will learn their postseason destination next week as NCAA team selections are announced Monday, May 3. Singles and doubles selections for the NCAA individual championships will be announced the following day.
