Joe Beckwith played for a state championship at Auburn High School. He played in the College World Series at Auburn. As a major leaguer, Joe was a part of World Series champions with the Dodgers and Royals.
After a championship career Beckwith returned to his home to work in the concrete business. The son of Bill Beckwith, who worked for over 40 years in the athletic department in public relations and in the ticket office, and the bother of Brotherman, Joe has been battling colon cancer for two and half years.
Both of his schools, Auburn High and Auburn University have honored Joe in the last two weeks.
