Justus Perry: SEC Community Service Team.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second straight season, Auburn first baseman and graduate student Justus Perry was selected to the SEC Community Service Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

Balancing her demands as Auburn's team captain while also pursuing her master's degree in Hispanic studies, Perry still found ways to give back to the Auburn community while navigating the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her biggest campaign was heading up Auburn softball's donations to Project Angel Tree in December as the Tigers provided Christmas gifts to 11 children in need. Throughout her time at Auburn, Perry has also given her time at Morningside Assisted Living home, the Big House Foundation, Dean Road Elementary School and Storybook Farms.

Perry represented Auburn on the 2020 SEC Community Service Team. The Prior Lake, Minn., native is a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and was named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District team. In 2020, she won Auburn Athletics' prestigious Virgil Starks III Passion Award, which honors a student-athlete who demonstrates exceptional spirit by encouraging, playing hard and maintaining a winning attitude on and off the field.

On the field, Justus ranks third in program history with 40 career hit by pitches. She is one of the top defensive first basemen to ever wear an Auburn uniform. She will leave the Plains ranked in the top four in both career fielding percentage and putouts. She is a career .243 hitter with 13 home runs and 83 RBI.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 21 league-sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
