Tigers complete opening day of NCAA Stillwater Regional

STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 15 Auburn men's golf team completed its first day of the NCAA Stillwater Regional Monday that featured 36 holes at the par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Club.

Due to inclement thunderstorms and lightning in the surrounding area, the Tigers and the rest of the 13-team field were tasked to play two rounds Monday in an effort complete the annual three-round postseason event in an efficient manner this week.

The Tigers are in seventh at 5-over (287-284--581) and just two shots behind fifth-place Northwestern and one shot back of sixth-place Sam Houston State. No. 4 Oklahoma State leads the field at 17-under (559).

The top five teams and one individual following the final round of the regional, which is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m. CT Tuesday, will advance to the 2021 NCAA Championship in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Andrew Kozan led the way for Auburn and is in a tie for 19th overall at 1-over (70-75--145). The senior racked up 11 birdies on the day, including seven that came in the first round.

Alex Vogelsong is just shot behind Kozan at 2-over (74-72--146) and is in a tie for 24th. The sophomore had five birdies and 25 pars on his two cards.

Graysen Huff and J.M. Butler are in a tie for 35th and 45th, respectively. Huff is at 4-over (74-74--148) behind a team-best 26 pars, while Butler sits at 6-over (77-73--150).

Jovan Rebula rounded out the Tiger contingent and is tied for 50th at 7-over (69-82--151).

The final round of the regional is set to tee off at 10 a.m. CT Tuesday. Live scoring is available on Golfstat.com.
