AUBURN, Ala. – The postseason continues for the Auburn women's golf team as the Southeastern Conference champions head to the 2021 NCAA Louisville Regional, May 10-12. The three-day tournament will be held at the University of Louisville Golf Club (Par 72, 6,289 yards).

Auburn, ranked No. 9 nationally, will be one of seven top-25 teams competing this week and one of 12 teams ranked in the top 50.

"I do feel this is the toughest field this week," head coach Melissa Luellen said. "No matter where we go or who is in the field, we have to play well. The pressure can be tough in this tournament because a lot is on the line. But we're a great team and I think we're right where we should be."

The field also includes No. 1 South Carolina, No. 8 Florida State, No. 16 Texas, No. 17 Arkansas, No. 23 Texas Tech, No. 25 UCLA, No. 32 Michigan State, No. 34 UCF, No. 39 Tennessee, No. 41 North Florida, No. 48 Louisville, UTSA, Mercer, College of Charleston, Xavier, James Madison and Fairleigh Dickinson.

"We are at the point in the season where we have continue playing our game," Luellen said. "We don't have to do anything special, but just need to focus on what we do well and be ready to go. The term 'smart aggressive' will stick with us. If you get in trouble, the key is to play smart. But to also play aggressive when there are green light pins to go for. This is our theme for the week and we're excited to get going."

The Auburn lineup will be a mix of experience and youth as three of the five have competed in this championship format, while two are making their first showing at NCAAs.

Leading the way will be sophomore Megan Schofill and senior Mychael O'Berry as the duo are coming off All-SEC selections this week. Schofill has a team best 72.11 stroke average and 12 rounds of par or better on the year, while O'Berry has a 73.38 stroke average on the year with five finishes in the top 20.

Joining the pair will be fifth-year senior Elena Hualde Zuniga, senior Kaleigh Telfer and freshman Elina Sinz. The two veterans have six top 20 finishes between them both and each played a big role in Auburn's run to the 2021 SEC Championship. Sinz, who was recently placed on the SEC All-Freshman team, will make her collegiate postseason debut this week for the Tigers.

Freshman Anna Foster will serve as alternate for the squad. The Dublin, Ireland product was also named to the SEC All-Freshman team.

The Tigers will tee off at 7 a.m. CT Monday and are grouped with the Gamecocks and the Seminoles. Live scoring can be found on golfstat.com.
