OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Graduate third baseman Rankin Woley has been named a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American.
Woley previously became Auburn baseball's first Senior CLASS Award finalist as he was one of 10 players across the county chosen by the selection committee.
The award is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in Division I baseball. The 2021 Senior CLASS Award All-America Teams can be found here.
Woley was not only named the 2020 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and CoSIDA Academic All-America, but also earned Collegiate Baseball All-America honors after being the only player in Division I to rank in the top 20 in hits, doubles and RBI last season. He followed up his All-America campaign by ranking second on the team with a .320 average in 2021. Woley added 12 doubles and a career-high 10 homers to cap off his collegiate career.
In three seasons and 132 games in an Auburn uniform, Woley turned in a .311 career average and collected 162 hits, 37 doubles, 15 homers and 98 RBI.
The Atlanta, Georgia native graduated summa cum laude with a 3.92 GPA last summer, earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and took classes this year to prepare for medical school.
Despite staying busy both on the field and in the classroom, Woley has also made an impact in the community, participating in events such as visiting Children's of Alabama and hosting a camp with the Miracle League of East Alabama.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
