EUGENE, Ore.— A total of 11 Auburn student-athletes will be competing at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon, starting on Wednesday and concluding on Saturday. It will be the first outdoor championships in two years after the 2020 season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Auburn will have six women and five men, including seven that will be participating in their first NCAA Outdoor Championships. Seniors Cade Antonucci and Kylee Carter, both javelin throwers, are making their third career appearance.
 
The Tigers will start on Wednesday with decathlete Alex Spyridonidis beginning at 1 p.m. PT with the 100m. The 10-event decathlon will have five events contested on Wednesday and five on Thursday.
 
Four other Auburn men will be in action during Day 1. Antonucci and Nils Fischer will be throwing in the men's javelin finals at 6:15 p.m. The lone track events for the Tigers on Wednesday will Eric Brown in the men's 800m semifinals and Malk Metivier in the men's 400m Hurdles semifinals. Brown's race will be at 6:44 p.m., while Metivier will compete at 7 p.m.
 
The Auburn women will take to the track on Thursday with Madi Malone (hammer throw), Presley Weems (1500m semifinals), Joyce Kimeli (3000m Steeplechase semifinals), Kylee Carter (javelin throw) and Ashely Carter (javelin throw). Senior Natosha Jordan will compete in the two-day heptathlon beginning Friday. The men's decathlon will also wrap up on Day 2.
 
ESPN will air the championships on their multiple platforms. Digital coverage on ESPN3 will be from 4-11:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN2 airing live from 9-11:30 p.m. and from 8-9 p.m. on ESPNU.
