Gregg Olson

He became the first Auburn player inducted into the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Gregg Olson is the first reliever to go into the Hall, housed in Lubbock, TX. 

Olson played for a pair of legends in his amateur days. He played for his father, Bill, at Omaha Northwest High School. The hall of fame coach led teams to six state championships, including four in Gregg's career. At Auburn, he played for another Hall of Famer in Hal Baird. While at Auburn, Olson made the move from a starting pitcher to a closer.  He was the American Rookie of the Year with the Baltimore Orioles in 1989. He is also in the Orioles Hall of Fame.
