KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2020-21 Auburn men's basketball team was named a recipient of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, the organization announced.
The award, created by the NABC Committee on Academics, recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better.
The Tigers earned the award for the first time since its inception in 2013 and were one of only two Southeastern Conference teams to garner recognition, in addition to Tennessee.
To earn a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and two-year colleges must count the grade point averages of all men's student-athletes on the basketball roster during the 2020-21 season.
