IRVINE, Calif. – It was another incoming Auburn softball freshman that delivered the game-deciding hit – this time in the Premier Girls Fastpitch High School All-American Game as Nelia Peralta was tabbed the Most Valuable Player after leading the East squad to a 3-1 victory over the West at Deanna Manning Stadium over the weekend.

The PGF High School All-American game features 40 of the best high school seniors in the country. After being nominated by a coach and/or a PGF Selection Committee Member, the National Selection Committee decided on players who earned a spot on their "Watch List." Following the development of the Watch List, the committee announced six Regional All-American teams (Western, Mountain, Southwest, Central, Southeast and Northeast). Two weeks later, the final All-American team rosters were selected.

The final 40 players are divided up into East and West teams, with 20 graduating seniors on each roster.

Peralta, an infielder from Wellington, Fla., plated the first runs of the game, doubling home a pair of runs in the top of the second. She also drew a walk in the contest and was selected the MVP at the close of the game.

She is the second incoming Tiger in as many weeks to earned offensive recognition in an all-star contest, joining Bri Ellis. Ellis was selected as the Offensive Player of the Game in the inaugural Alliance All-Star Game last week.
