Auburn S&D unveils ‘challenging’ 2021-22 schedule

AUBURN, Ala. – Under the direction of first-year head coach Ryan Wochomurka, the Auburn swimming and diving program announced their schedule for the 2021-22 season Thursday.  

"We're excited for an extremely challenging conference and non-conference schedule," Wochomurka said. "It's a little bit more regional, but we're looking forward to expanding our opportunities this year to compete – hopefully more than we were able to last year. We certainly have some challenging meets ahead of us both in the fall and in the spring, but excited in how those challenges will set us up for championship season."

Following the Orange vs. Blue intrasquad meet on Sept. 29, the Tigers will open the season Oct. 15 on the road at Florida State in the first of five dual meets. Auburn will also travel to Alabama (Jan. 15) and Florida (Jan. 22) while hosting dual meets against Georgia (Nov. 5) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 8) in the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. 

The fall slate includes a tri-meet at home against both Kentucky and North Carolina State on Oct. 22-23 as well as a return trip to the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational on Nov. 18-20. It is Auburn's first appearance in the mid-season invitational since 2018. 

In addition to the dual meets and the mid-season invitational, the Auburn divers will compete in the Auburn Diving Invitational (Dec. 15-18) and the Tennessee Diving Invitational (Jan. 3-6). 

In February, Auburn will once again host the Auburn Invitational (swimming only).

For the postseason, the SEC Men's and Women's Championships will both be held in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Feb. 15-19. Then it's on to a jam-packed month of March with the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships (March 7-9), the NCAA Women's Championships (March 16-19) and the NCAA Men's Championships (March 23-26) all held in Atlanta.
