AUBURN, Ala. – The fall portion of the Auburn equestrian 2021-22 schedule was released Friday.
The fall season will consist of four home meets and four away meets as well as a preseason scrimmage.
"Nothing like jumping right in the fire this fall," head coach Greg Williams said. The first three meets include the defending national champion, followed by the Big 12 champion and then the reserve national champions. I believe our team will be ready for it. We have great new talent coming in and the squad will be led by several athletes that have won it all. Our team is ready to get to work and win big this season."
The team will kick off its slate with a jumping seat scrimmage against Sewanee, Oct. 1. The Tigers follow with their first Southeastern Conference match up, hosting the 2021 national champion and SEC rival Georgia Bulldogs at the Auburn University Equestrian Center, Oct. 8.
Auburn will then hit the road Oct. 15 and 16 with a pair of nonconference meets. The team will first face 2021 Big 12 champion Oklahoma State (Oct. 15) before heading to NCEA runner-up SMU (Oct. 16).
The Tigers return to the Plains for a tri-meet, Oct. 22-23, and will face Lynchburg in a jumping seat meet that Friday. Lynchburg and Fresno State will face off early on Oct. 23 before Auburn and Fresno State face off in a full meet later that day.
Auburn closes out the busy first half of 2021-22 with three big meets. The last home meet of the fall season is set for Oct. 29 against SEC foe South Carolina. The Tigers cap things off with another two-meet road trip as they head back to the state of Texas, Nov. 18-19. The squad takes on Texas A&M on the first day and then faces Baylor on Nov. 19 in a rematch from the 2021 NCEA quarterfinals.
