AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn softball head coach Mickey Dean announced the 2021 fall schedule Wednesday, which consists of eight games at Jane B. Moore Field spread out over five days in September and October.
The slate of games, which includes three sets of doubleheaders, features contests against six National Junior College Athletic Association programs and two NCAA Division II squads. The eight-game exhibition schedule will begin on Sunday, Sept. 19 with a doubleheader against Wallace State-Hanceville and Enterprise State, beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT. Wallace State is coming off its 13th Alabama Community College Conference/Region 22 Tournament championship victory in its program history.
The following week, Auburn returns to the diamond to face Andrew College at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, Sept. 26.
Auburn's second doubleheader of the fall is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 3 versus Gulf Coast State College and Snead State. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT. On Sunday, Oct. 10, Auburn will face Auburn Montgomery in a scheduled 10-inning contest set for 1 p.m. CT. AUM was ranked No. 21 in the final NFCA Division II Coaches Poll last season while its staff was named the NFCA's South Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
The Tigers round out their fall slate on Sunday, Oct. 17 with a doubleheader against Valdosta State, who finished the 2021 season ranked No. 6 in the NFCA Division II Coaches Poll, and the 2019 NJCAA national champions Chipola College. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m. CT.
