They fled communist Poland when she was an infant. Magda Dyszkiewicz's family went to Germany, then eventually, Salisbury, North Carolina. She learned to swim when her father eventually stopped catching her after jumping from the diving board. Swimming was in Magda's blood. Her father was a competitive swimmer, even at the masters level.
She had offers from Georgia, then the women's power in the SEC, but chose to help build a dynasty at Auburn. Now she and her husband, Corey Cooper, are the co-founders of Bote, B-O-T-E. For the past 13 years they have developed a line of paddle boards, inflatable boats and recreational items in Destin, Florida. The water is the common thread of Magda's life.
