FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Sophomore Anna Foster made two eagles Friday and opened the Mason Rudolph Championship with a team-best 70 (-2) in the first round, matching her score from the final round of the Cougar Classic earlier this month.
Foster, who also knocked in a birdie, is tied for 10th overall after the first day.
Led by Foster, Auburn is also 10th on the team leaderboard through round one after shooting 294 (+6) at the Vanderbilt Legends Club (Par 72, 6,475 yards). The five Tigers in the field combined to make 10 total birdies along with the two eagles from Foster.
Junior Megan Schofill made four of the team's 10 birdies and finished at 1-over (73). She's currently in a tie for 31st individually. Senior Julie McCarthy is tied for 39th after carding a round of 74 (+2) with two birdies.
Rounding out the Auburn contingent are senior Mychael O'Berry and sophomore Elina Sinz who both shot 77 (+5) and are tied for 60th overall heading into the second round.
Oregon jumped out into the lead at 12-under par (276), followed by Vanderbilt (282), Alabama (285), Clemson (286), Florida (290), Northwestern (290), Kentucky (291), Louisville (292), Ohio State (293), Auburn (294), Washington (295), Middle Tennessee (297), Georgia (298), Chattanooga (299) and Mississippi State (300).
Auburn will tee off at 8:45 a.m. CT on Saturday for the second round and will be paired with Washington and Middle Tennessee. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com.
