AUBURN, Ala. – After weather postponed opening weekend, softball has finally returned to the Plains as the 2021 fall exhibition schedule begins Sunday at Jane B. Moore Field as the Tigers host Wallace State – Hanceville and Andrew College for a pair of games.

"We had to wait an extra week, but the team is excited to get on the field against an opponent," said head coach Mickey Dean. "We're all anxious to play against someone other than ourselves and to see some of the things we've been working on in game situations."

The Tigers open their fall slate against Wallace State – Hanceville at 2 p.m. CT before taking on Andrew College at 4:30 p.m. CT. Wallace State and Andrew College will play in a neutral-site contest at Jane B. Moore Field at 11:30 a.m. CT to kick off Sunday's tripleheader.

Auburn will be led on the field by a pair of seniors, Aspyn Godwin and Samantha Yarbrough, as well as Auburn's Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team quartet that return for their sophomore campaigns: Shelby Lowe, Maddie Penta, Sydney Cox and Makayla Packer.

Lowe, who was named Second Team All-SEC as a freshman, brings a wealth of experience to the circle after her record-setting freshman campaign. Lowe led all SEC true freshmen last season and ranked fifth overall in the league with 179 strikeouts. Her 1.48 ERA was the second lowest ever recorded by a Tiger freshman pitcher.

As with all home fall games, admission is free to the public. There will be limited concessions
serving bottled beverages, assorted candy and snacks.

The fall games will not be streamed, but fans can stay updated through the Auburn softball Twitter account: @AuburnSoftball.
