Ric Smith took over for a legend. Carl Stephens had been the voice of Jordan-Hare Stadium for 27 years. This followed his time as the host of the Auburn Football Review with Coach Shug Jordan. Smith is in his 16th season behind the mic at Jordan-Hare. He was there for the Miracle at Jordan-Hare and two weeks later, the Kick Six.
Smith is also the pronouncer for Auburn graduations. Through the week, he serves as a Senior Lecturer and Internship Director for the School of Communication and Journalism, focusing on mass communication, media law and news and sports announcing.
