Auburn in the NFL: Week 3 rundown

AU_Next_Level_Week_3AU_Next_Level_Week_3

Former Auburn teammates Peyton Barber and Daniel Carlson played a major role in Sunday's overtime win for the Las Vegas Raiders. Barber, in particular, made the most of his opportunity with a career high in rushing yards and his 20th career rushing touchdown.

That and more in this week's Auburn in the NFL rundown.

BEST OF WEEK 3

Peyton Barber, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
It was only his second game for Las Vegas on Sunday, but Barber made his mark, helping lead the Raiders to a 31-28 win over the Miami Dolphins. Barber carried the ball 23 times for 111 yards, a new career high and the third-highest total across the NFL in Week 3. He scored on a 1-yard touchdown run, giving him 20 rushing touchdowns for his career, and he broke off a 27-yard run in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal. After the game, Las Vegas head coach Jon Gruden awarded Barber the game ball for his performance.

Angelo Blackson, DL, Chicago Bears
It was another impressive performance for Blackson who matched his career high with five tackles in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns. He also recorded half a sack as he and Robert Quinn brought down quarterback Baker Mayfield on a fourth-down play in the first quarter. The former fourth-round pick who is in his first season with the Bears now has 12 tackles, an interception and half a sack through the team's first three games.

Daniel Carlson, PK, Las Vegas Raiders
Carlson, the reigning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, delivered yet again for the Raiders on Sunday with a game-winning field goal from 22 yards out to beat the Miami Dolphins, 31-28, in overtime. It was one of three field goals Carlson made on the day as he also connected from 50 yards out in the second quarter and from 38 yards away on the team's opening drive in the overtime period. He's now made 29 field goals in a row and is a perfect 9 of 9 on field goals this season.

Rudy Ford, S, Jacksonville Jaguars
In his fifth season in the NFL, Ford has found a new home with the Jaguars. On Sunday, he recorded three tackles and made one of the plays of the game on specials teams, downing a punt inside the 1-yard line in the first quarter. Ford, known as one of the fastest gunners in the league, also forced the Cardinals to call for a fair catch on multiple punt returns.
