WASHINGTON, D.C. – Auburn Director of Athletics Allen Greene has been named to the LEAD1 Association Board of Directors Executive Committee, the association announced Tuesday.

"I'm deeply honored and humbled to represent Auburn and the Southeastern Conference on the LEAD1 Board of Directors Executive Committee," said Greene, who is scheduled to serve as chair in 2023. "I look forward to collaborating with our esteemed industry peers to advocate for the future of college athletics as we seek to navigate unprecedented challenges and opportunities facing our enterprise."

Following the departure of Northwestern Vice President for Athletics Jim Phillips, who will become the next Commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Greene will serve on LEAD1's Executive Committee as 2nd Vice Chair. Eddie Nuñez, Director of Athletics at the University of New Mexico, will also serve on the Executive Committee as an At-Large representative.

"Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of industry leaders committed to providing strength, intelligence and sustainability for those in the college sports community," said Tom McMillen, President and CEO of LEAD1. "We are excited to channel Allen and Eddie's talent, expertise and energy into furthering our mission."

In his fourth year at Auburn, Greene also serves on the National Association of Collegiate Athletics Directors (NACDA) Executive Committee and is actively engaged in the Minority Opportunities Athletics Association.

The LEAD1 Association, which represents the athletics directors of the 130-member schools of the Football Bowl Subdivision ("FBS"), also announced Tuesday the dates for three membership events in 2021, including two athletics director meetings and the LEAD1 Institute.
