AUBURN, Ala. – Following the holidays, Auburn baseball continues to announce the final members of its 2021 signing class, starting with right-handed pitcher Trevor Horne.
Horne hails from nearby Phenix City, Alabama, and is a product of Glenwood High School and the Louisiana Knights. He is rated by Perfect Game as a top 20 player in the state, including a top 10 right hander.
"I have a great connection with the coaching staff, especially with Coach Thompson," Horne said. "He's been with me through day one of my college recruiting process. They are all genuine and honest people and care about me as a person and a baseball player. It really helped ensure that Auburn was the right place for me to become better as a person and as a baseball player.
"Signing with Auburn was one of the greatest moments of my life," Horne added. "It really hit me that all the hard work that I have put in had payed off. It was a great moment sharing it with my family and friends. I am pumped to get to Auburn and began making an impact as soon as I can. Playing baseball here has always been a dream of mine. Now that it's a reality, it makes me want to work even harder, and my mindset is more focused to be the best I can be. I want to help my team in the best way possible to get back to Omaha."

Horne was 2-1 with a 1.06 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 19.2 innings pitched during the shortened 2020 season. He allowed only eight hits and held opponents to a .111 batting average against.
Also a standout on the travel ball circuit with the Louisiana Knights, Horne went 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA and struck out 24 batters in 13.2 innings last summer. His fastball registered 92 miles per hour and he was named the to WWBA 18U National Championship All-Tournament Team.
