AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn men's basketball team will open the 2021-22 season ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25 Poll, released Monday.

It is the seventh time in program history the Tigers have been ranked in the annual preseason poll and the first since 2019 when they started the year at No. 24. They have been as high as fourth (1999-2000) and twice have been ranked in the top 10.

Auburn is one of five teams from the Southeastern Conference ranked in this year's preseason top 25, joining the likes of Kentucky (10), Alabama (14), Arkansas (16) and Tennessee (18). The Tigers will also face No. 24 UConn as part of its non-conference slate. The two sides will open play against each other in the Battle 4 Atlantis next month.

Auburn is one of just eight schools who has both their basketball team and football team ranked in the AP Top 25. The Tigers are No. 19 in the latest college football poll.

On the hardwood, Auburn will make its season debut Nov. 5 with an exhibition game at home against Southern Indiana. The game will be streamed live on SEC Network+ and can also be heard on the Auburn Sports Network. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
