WINDERMERE, Fla. – The Auburn men's golf team wrapped its fall campaign on a high note Tuesday afternoon, claiming a third-place finish at the prestigious Isleworth Collegiate.

"We played tough out there as pins were difficult to get close to," said Tigers head coach Nick Clinard. "The guys hung in there all day long. We are looking forward to the offseason and improving over the break. This is the time for us to work hard on our games and be ready for the spring and summer."

The Tigers shot two-under-par (862) throughout the event, a score bested only by nationally-ranked Arizona State and Illinois.

Sophomore workhorse J.M. Butler continued to prove himself a key cog in the Auburn lineup, leading the team with a four-under (212) and claiming fifth place on the individual leaderboard.

Playing like a pro in his collegiate stroke play debut, freshman Brendan Valdes also rose to the occasion, shooting even (216) in his hometown of Orlando, Florida to conclude play tied for 11th place.

Alex Vogelsong, another Florida product, claimed the Tigers' third top-15 finish with a one-over par (217).

Junior Austin Coggin made four more birdies to bring his tournament total to 14, tied for the most by any golfer on the week. Coggin closed out round three with a 219 (+3).

Sophomore Carson Bacha shot a three-over (75) on Tuesday to bring his final total to 222 (+6).

Over the course of the tournament, the Tigers knocked down 54 birdies and one eagle, averaging 71.83 strokes per hole.

The Arizona State Sun Devils were crowned tournament champions with an 853 (-11). Piercen Hunt of Illinois won the individual title, shooting seven-under (209).
