AUBURN, Ala. – A successful fall season has already come and gone and the men of Auburn golf are ready to build upon their countless hours of hard work, gearing up for the spring. After graduating a large, experienced senior class, head coach Nick Clinard has ushered in a wave of fresh talent with four freshman and one new assistant coach. As the fall semester rolls along, we will take a closer look at the men who are taking that step up to the next level and beginning their careers on The Plains.
The fourth freshman to be featured is Cole Davidson, a in-state product hailing from Birmingham.
Q: Why did you choose to continue your career at Auburn?
Davidson: I loved Auburn's atmosphere, and everything that comes with Auburn golf, from coaches to facilities to teammates, is top of the line.
Q: What is your major, and what career plans do you have with it?
Davidson: My major is professional flight. I would like to fly for an airline or cargo company one day.
Q: Do you have any golf superstitions or rituals?
Davidson: I do not have any at all. In fact, I feel like they would only make me perform worse.
Q: How would you describe your ideal pizza?
Davidson: Definitely a meat lover's or supreme pizza. Those are my two favorites.
Q: Besides golf, what is your favorite Auburn sport?
Davidson: Football because the atmosphere is unbeatable, and it is fun to go to the games with all of your friends.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
Davidson: I like to fly, hunt, fish and spend time with my friends.
Q: What is your favorite course you have ever played on?
Davidson: Old Kinderhook in Missouri. It is very well-kept and the landscape is really fun to play on.
Q: What is your favorite genre of music?
Davidson: I like listening to country music. My favorite artists are Koe Wetzel, Riley Green and Zach Bryan.
Q: Who is your favorite professional sports team to follow?
Davidson: The Dallas Cowboys.
Q: What is your advice to younger guys who want to golf at the next level?
Davidson: Remain focused during practice and always make the most of the time that you do have.
