No. 1 Auburn hosts No. 9 South Carolina Friday

AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 1 Auburn equestrian is set to welcome No. 9 South Carolina to the Auburn University Equestrian Center Friday. The two Southeastern Conference foes will go head-to-head at 3 p.m. CT and admission is free.
 
"This is another South Carolina team that is set to come in and throw everything they have at us," head coach Greg Williams said. "It's going to be a fun meet to watch because they will be pushing us hard and our team is going to have to answer. There are going to be a lot of great rides and it's going to be a great day to be out at the meet."
 
SPECTATOR INFORMATION
Friday will be the team's All Auburn, All Orange meet. Orange t-shirts will be handed out while supplies last.
 
The Kid's Zone returns this year with a bounce house, pony rides and yard games available to all kids in attendance.
 
Members of the Heritage Club are reminded that entrance to the Scholarship Lounge requires a mask.

AUBURN LINEUP
The Tiger lineup will only change a little against the Gamecocks compared to the previous meets.
 
The Jumping Seat crew will be led by four Tigers that will compete in all four events. Senior Emma Kurtz, junior Ava Stearns, sophomore Ellie Ferrigno and freshman Sophee Steckbeck are down to ride in both Fences and Flat for the squad.
 
Stearns (5-0-0) and Kurtz (4-0-1) are unbeaten in Fences, while Ferrigno holds a 4-1-0 mark in the event. Kurtz has a team-best four wins in Flat on the year. Steckbeck is coming off a big weekend last week as she went undefeated against Lynchburg and Fresno State, picking up three of four possible MOP honors.
 
Joining the four in Fences will be senior Meghan Knapic. The All-American is undefeated so far on the season in the event with a 5-0-0 mark. Fifth-year senior Helen Ulrich will ride in Flat following a win against Lynchburg last Friday.
 
Fifth-year senior Taylor Searles will compete in both Horsemanship and Reining for the Western corps and is a perfect 4-0-0 in each event this season with one MOP apiece.
 
The Horsemanship lineup will remain the same as juniors Olivia Tordoff and Maddie Spak as well as sophomores Madison Parduhn and Jacqueline Frimodt are set to compete with Searles. Parduhn is second on the team with three wins on the season, while Tordoff has earned back-to-back MOP honors.
 
Fifth-year senior Terri-June Granger will join classmate Searles in Reining. The All-American has two victories on the year so far.
 
Junior Boo Kammerer and sophomores Isabella Tesmer and Kate Buchanan will also ride in Reining. Kammerer and Tesmer both have two wins on the year and an MOP each.
 
AUBURN-SOUTH CAROLINA SERIES
Auburn leads the all-time series, 30-19, and have won 17-straight contests against South Carolina.
 
The two teams met three times in 2020-21 with the last coming on the first day of the 2021 SEC Championship. The Tigers topped the Gamecocks, 13-6, in Bishop, Georgia.
 
Auburn last hosted South Carolina in March 2021 in the regular season finale and came away with a 13-5 victory. The Tigers are 12-7 at home in the series.
 
UP NEXT
The Tigers close out the fall season with a road trip back to Texas. Auburn will face No. 6 Texas A&M on Thursday, Nov. 18 and will conclude the week at No. 8 Baylor Friday, Nov. 19.
