DUBLIN, Ohio – The Auburn golf teams scored 3.5 points in Tuesday's match with Ohio State to finish fourth at the inaugural Barbara Nicklaus Cup with seven points in all.

There was a delayed start due to fog at the tournament, which featured men's and women's teams playing together, and all groups teed off at the same time with a shotgun start. It was the third match in two days for the Tigers.

Alex Vogelsong secured the first point of the day for Auburn with a 6&5 victory in his singles match. Teammate Austin Coggin also scored a point, finishing 1-UP through 17 holes before play was stopped. Vogelsong and Coggin were among those who scored points in Monday's matches as well – Vogelsong in singles and Coggin in a mixed foursome.

In Tuesday's match, J.M. Butler and Megan Schofill were impressive together and won their mixed foursome, 6&4, to picked up a third point. The duo of Brendan Valdes and Brooke Sansom earned half a point after finishing tied through 16 holes.

Florida State took first place at the event with 16.5 points, followed by Arizona State (12.5), Ohio State (12) and Auburn (7).

It's a quick turnaround for the Auburn men who will play in the SEC Match Play Championship at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Shoal Creek, Alabama, beginning Sunday.

The Auburn women will be back in action Oct. 25-27 when they travel to Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, to play in The Ally at Old Waverly.
