Ron Anders grew up in the shadows of Auburn University. His grandfather opened Anders Bookstore in the 60s. A business, Ron took over from his father. He was appointed to an unexpired term on the Auburn City Council, won re-election and in 2018, ran and was elected Auburn's mayor. A three-sport athlete at Auburn High School, he was a cheerleader at Auburn University.
