AUBURN, Ala.—To honor the men and women who serve and have served this great nation in military service, Auburn University has scheduled numerous military-themed events leading up to the 2021 Military Appreciation Game Day on Saturday, Nov. 13 when Auburn hosts Mississippi State at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 11 a.m. CT.
Military Appreciation Week in Auburn Arena:
- Show a valid military ID at the marketing table (VB & WBB: Scholarship Entrance, MBB: Main Entrance) to receive an Auburn University-themed commemorative Military Appreciation Day coin at one of the events listed below.
- American Flags and military appreciation pins/stickers will also be available at the events listed below.
- Arrive early/be in your seats for recognition of Auburn Student Veterans and all who have served our country!
Friday, Nov. 12: Auburn Alumni Association Military Appreciation Reception
- 2 p.m. - Auburn Veterans and service members are invited to a free Military Appreciation reception honoring our brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces at the Auburn Alumni Center, located at 317 S. College St. Click here to RSVP.
Saturday, Nov. 13: Auburn Football Military Appreciation Day
- Auburn has partnered with the Alexander City Military Vehicle Club to bring in historic military display vehicles. The military vehicles will be display on the front lawn of the Nichols Center starting at 7 a.m. and along Donahue Drive, which will feature a large American flag fire truck ladder display.
- The Athletics Department and the Auburn Alumni Association will distribute Auburn University-themed commemorative Military Appreciation Day coins for active and former military personnel with military ID. Coins will be available earlier in the week at the Auburn Arena events listed above, Friday's reception and Saturday's hospitality tailgate at the Alumni Center as well as Coca-Cola Fan Fest on Nichols Lawn, while supplies last.
- Auburn ROTC Cadets, Midshipmen and student veterans will lead the Auburn football team through Tiger Walk at approximately 9 a.m.
- The pregame flyover will be performed by the A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthogs."
- The Auburn University Marching Band will perform a special patriotic halftime salute to our military, following the retirement of Spirit, Auburn University's bald eagle, who will fly pregame in-stadium for the final time. All active duty and veterans in attendance will also be recognized.
- Multiple recognitions honoring Auburn University veterans and ROTC cadets will occur throughout the game.
- The Auburn Family is invited to have the opportunity to honor anyone on the videoboard who is serving or has served our country by posting a video or photo to social media with with #AuburnHero or by clicking here. All entries are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
