AUBURN, Ala. – The first NET rankings of the 2021-22 season were unveiled Monday, and Auburn checked in at No. 16 with a 7-1 record this season.

This marks the fourth season of the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings, which replaced the RPI prior to the 2018-19 season as the primary sorting tool for evaluating teams. The NET includes a team's winning percentage and average opponent's winning percentage, and it also takes into account game results, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.

Auburn is 1-1 in Quadrant 1 games this year with its win coming against Loyola Chicago, ranked No. 25 in the NET, in the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Tigers also picked up a Quadrant 2 win over UCF last week and have two Quadrant 3 wins (Morehead State and Syracuse).

At No. 16, Auburn is currently fourth highest among SEC teams in the NET.

Auburn also moved up three spots to No. 18 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, released Monday.

The Tigers will return to the court Saturday, Dec. 11 to take part in this year's Holiday Hoopsgiving event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Auburn and Nebraska will play the first game of the day, tipping off at 10:30 a.m. CT.
