When she played for the Auburn women's basketball team she was known as Carol Smith. She came to Auburn from Gulf Coast State Community College where she was a JUCO All American. Originally her plans were to play at Howard out of Fairfield High School in Birmingham, but she didn't have the ACT score.
Carol became the first from her family with a college degree. As a matter of fact, she has two from Auburn. Earlier this year she became an author. Carol's Dream is a children's book about her life. She lost her mother to cancer and was raised by her grandmother. She is a wife, the mother of two little girls, a school teacher, motivational speaker and author.
