AUBURN, Ala. – Continuing to lift the program to new heights with key roster additions, head volleyball coach Brent Crouch announced the signing of middle blocker Chelsey Harmon, a transfer from Portland.
From Puyallup, Washington, Harmon has spent the last two seasons with the Pilots, closing her sophomore season with one of the top 10 hitting percentages in the West Coast Conference.
"Chelsey is a talented and skilled middle blocker with an ability to score points offensively," said Crouch. "This is an area that we needed to upgrade as we head into next season. With the addition of our incoming freshmen, we expect to have a well-balanced offense come fall. Chelsey will also be able to continue our tradition of excellent team blocking and is driven to be an elite player and teammate."
As a freshman, Harmon appeared in 11 matches, starting seven. Harmon finished second on the team that season with a 0.71 blocks per set average with 22 blocks to her credit.
Harmon saw her playing time expand in 2021 with 22 starts. Harmon was one of just three Pilots to record at least 100 kills and led the team with a .313 hitting percentage. Once again, Harmon was one of the top blockers, finishing second on the squad with a 0.62 blocks per set average behind 48 total blocks.
A standout at Gov. John R. Rogers High School, Harmon was a first team All-State honoree in 2019. She closed that season as a nominee for Athlete of the Year. Additional high school honors included selections to the all-league team in 2018 and 2019, while earning honorable mention recognition in 2017. She was tabbed the team's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.
On the club scene, Harmon competed with Puget Sound Volleyball Academy.
